Okay. It’s not bad to tolerate other religions. Have you seen intolerant chrisitans? the people who turn their noses up to muslims and jews and the rest - the people who won’t let the improperly dressed in their churches, the people who protest at military funerals, the people who scream at gays, the people who judge incessantly the moral standards of other people?

and you’re saying that we shouldn’t tolerate?

If you “tolerate” another religion it doesn’t mean that you don’t preach the gospel to them. It means that you don’t judge, demean, or treat them poorly. If you say no to that, then you are everything that is wrong with Christianity. There isn’t enough tolerance in the christian world today. that’s the problem.

That’s the wrong way to look at it. If you’re really pursuing truth, then you should say “the Bible might contradict itself, but based on the evidence i’ve seen it probably doesn’t. so let’s see if there are any alternate explanations that fit the evidence.”

i find this funny. Usually christians are all about “Oh, homosexuality doesn’t scare us, we’re just against it” because they get called “homophobes” and stuff. But here you go out and say that it scares you that christians are accepting the homos. You actually are homophobic!

ahahah. this is the most stupid argument ever. If you were born blind, then does that mean its going against what god created to get your sight cured? If you were born without certain internal organs, should you assume that god didn’t screw up, that you were meant to be like that, and to die soon after? No! that is stupid. So if you’re born in a the wrong body, why is that ‘right’ and other deformities or disorders ‘wrong’? Just because something is one way or happens a certain way does not mean that it’s ‘right’ or that god meant it to be that way.

Hermaphrodites, then? god created them. what did he make them to be? and there are actual legitimate cases of people born with different brains who cannot accept their own gender, and from a very young age insist on acting and dressing like the opposite gender. It’s rare, but it happens. are those young children ‘sinning’ because of the imablances or disorders in their brain?

I know it’s been a long time since i posted. Life has gotten in the way - senior year is hellish and i got caught up in other things.

it’s a history book written by lots of people over long spans of time. How come you think it’s 100% true? The Histories by Herodotus were written by what he studied over a long period of time, but nobody ever thinks they’re completely true. just because it was actually written by people forever ago doesn’t mean that it’s a completely reliable document. Like creation - that was obviously told through people’s stories over and over again until it got written down. what makes you think that is completely true?

again - historical document does not mean a true document. Just because people wrote it down doesn’t mean it actually happened. This is a fallacy, whether or not what you’re arguing is true. you should find another argument.

Point A: Just because it’s fun doesn’t mean you should do it.

Point B: God gave Hitler his domineering, uncertain personality; does that mean that it’s set in stone and you shouldn’t change it? Just because someone is a certain way dose not mean God ordained it. Everyone has skills that could help with this “Kingdom,” and everyone has traits that detract from it. You have no more skill than any other person, no more God-ordained traits than any other person. If you say that you do, then you’re saying you’re better than them, somehow, and that is pure arrogance.

No, it doesn’t make sense. Being bipolar means you feel happy or sad without your own control, without it being predictable. It’s change, yeah, but it’s not change you want or control. Being able to adapt is the skill of changing yourself to fit into your surroundings, and being bipolar has nothing to do with that. It doesn’t care about surroundings, it just cares about… well, whatever disorders care about. Adaptivity is different from change.

I’ve been doing some research on this, and all I can say is - what does this (I think people call it “eternal security” or something) have to do with predestination, which is the idea that you don’t choose God, it’s the other way around? You should probably get your doctrine straight. Even I can see this part of it, and I’ve just been looking into it a little bit.

Can you think of a situation in which there wouldn’t be a way out of that lifestyle? Any situation? At all? Was it really God’s blessing, or are you just giving God the credit for something randomly good that happened, that could have happened any other place, any other time, if you had only chosen to?

There’s a popular theme among very bad fanfiction of highschool kids and junior high kids, and that is that someone is so beautiful, or so smart, or so popular or so noticed, that it is a curse that they have to labor through. Hah. Hah hah. Nice try.

What is wrong with Twilight? What you say about the changing popular perceptions of vampires is true, but why is that bad?
